Pantomimes 1976 to Present

In 2026 we celebrate our 50th year with a return to the pantomime that we first started with in 1976 – Cinderella

It is the most performed of them all

1976 was produced, directed, written and starred by John Harris – a teacher from Hobart High. John was joined in the crew by Joan Evans – one of our Life Presidents.

In 1977, they were joined by the wonderful Maureen Larkin.

In 2026, John was invited to speak as an honoured guest on our first Saturday Matinee performance, John and Joan wrote articles for our programme and Maureen voice was heard as an announcer and reporter.

Eventually Joan took over the Producer/Director/Writer roles for many years.

Since then Steve Burton has taken on that role.

Dancers and choreography was brilliantly provided by Joan Gisborne for many years before that role passed to the vastly talented Miss Vicky Codling.
